ANNA'S SMALL BUSINESS STORY
Long story short, art and design has been a central part of my life since childhood. If I wasn't doodling on my homework assignments in the evenings, I was sketching on spare pieces of notebook paper in my binders in class. Many of the floral design ideas you see on this site, including one of my top sellers "Delicate Daisies," originated from floral doodles I did in the 6th grade! By the time I reached college, I knew I wanted to pursue art daily, although you may be surprised to learn that I did not study art as a major. I have also always had a passion for animals, so my degrees are actually in animal and poultry sciences (MS, BS).
Despite my STEM background, I consistently incorporated art into my usual activities in college as a means of fun and stress relief. In 2017, I decided to offer hand-painted graduation caps and rhinestone caps to some of my sorority sisters to make some extra money for school. And as the saying goes, "the rest is history." As word of my cap designs spread, I went from making designs for just friends to students all over my campus. I then opened an Etsy shop in 2019 so that I could pursue creating designs for graduates all over the country. As of 2024, I have created over 5000 graduation cap designs and shipped them to graduates in all 50 states, multiple US territories, and 7 countries.
As my business has grown, I have incorporated other fun products like keychains and stickers to reach a wider market. It has been a huge learning experience not only figuring out how to grow and develop a client base, but to also learn the ins and outs of running a small business. These past 7 years have been a HUGE blessing and I am looking forward to seeing how God continues to lead me down this path of growing my business and expanding my skillset.
